The Rising

Yet again,the wall is crumbling;
The monster looks up from its lair,
Willing itself to break free;
Willing itself to dream, to dare.

The fear of losing,still tries to grip,
tries to restrain,tries to keep.
The call to rise falters once, remembering the times of past despair.
The broken heart,the soul laid bare.

Then an adage from time afar;
Starts to say,
Starts to intone, starts to chime.
Don’t give up,don’t lose hope;
Not this time,not this time.

A-why monster?, why something so sinister?
B-Have you intended to use a rhyming scheme?

A- for me a monster is a person of immense strength, and i wanted to talk about something which was once very strong, but has dwindled in power since.. .
B - not really rhyming, tried to stick to a meter.

Monster, a symbol of strength? what kind of strength? Doesn't it represent only brawn?

Besides what is it trying to break free from? #Customs

Monster is not just brawns. . . he's someone with the mental faculties to bring down his enemies. . .
and break free from shackles that are restraining him... not just customs, and especially past failures

If you say so, but somehow it inspires horror. Maybe you are right in your interpretation but it is just like addiction is a negative word, even though you could be addicted to "good things" Anyways its good overall, inspiring. Keep Walkin \m/

you got that right... my interpretation of a monster is someone who has immense mental and physical strength, may have fought for a cause, and since he lost, he has been branded as the villian!
remember, history is always the winners' version. . . :D
And thank you :)
